Students get to explore the various types of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, and Lewy body dementia, and gain a deeper understanding of the underlying causes, symptoms, and progression of these conditions.

Participants will also learn how to assess and manage the unique needs of elderly patients with dementia, including communication strategies, behavioural interventions, and person-centered care approaches. Emphasis will be placed on promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life for individuals living with dementia, as well as supporting their families and caregivers. By the end of the course, participants will have acquired a deeper understanding of dementia care principles and best practices, enabling them to provide holistic and person-centered care for elderly patients with dementia in various healthcare settings.
