Description

This programme aims to equip hospitality employees with the linguistic tools necessary to communicate effectively in various settings. Topics covered include language related to:

  • Health and safety at the workplace
  • Preparation of different areas for service
  • Maintaining colleague and management relations
  • Post service cleaning and clearing of specific areas
  • Workplace standard procedures
  • Guest relations and customer service
  • Transactions and cash management

Emphasis is placed on practical communication skills essential for nursing practice, including greeting patients, providing instructions, offering reassurance, and conveying empathy.

This will be achieved by foregrounding the following communicative skills: Greeting and everyday general conversations, Clarification, Politeness, Empathy, Instructions and Advice.

Predominantly TCNs employed in the Maltese Hospitality Industry who need to communicate effectively and appropriately in Maltese in their work environment. Including interactions with customers in different catering establishments.

Requirements

This is a basic MQF Level 2 course in Maltese, hence there are no prior qualification requirements.

The learner will be able to:

  • Provide clear and concise suggestions to clients as appropriate.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, management and clients during interactions.

  • Complete requested documentation accurately.
  • Adapt communication style and language to meet the needs of diverse colleagues, management and clients.
